Check out these photos I took on the 160km route of the An Post Tour of Sligo. It was a beautiful sunny day and the riders were in great form while passing. If you know anyone in the photos let me know as I’d love to send a copy of their photo to them.

Here are the photos I took in St Patrick’s Cathedral on Good Friday during Mozart’s Requiem concert in aid of the Carmichael Centre for Voluntary Groups.

St Patricks Cathedral is notoriously difficult for taking photos at night due to the low light conditions. Because these shots were taken during the concert I was not able to use flash, so they were shot at 6400 ISO on a Canon 5D MKII. For those who don’t know high ISO introduces ‘noise’ or grain into the photograph as the sensor becomes more sensitive to light as the ISO number increases. In an ideal world we would shoot every photograph at around 100 ISO for the best quality!

With the post production techniques I use I was able to remove a lot of the ‘noise’ or grain and produce these stunning action shots of the concert.

Well, here is my 1st post on Pixillume Photography. This is the start of a new journey that I hope you can join me on. Photography is something I have had a passion for, for over 20 years now. I believe photography is about capturing a split second in time and sharing that moment with others for many years to come….

I am looking forward to offering photography, web design and training services to my customers through this site, and in person. I am also looking forward to sharing industry news, interesting photography, tips & tricks and lots of other useful information that will make you want to come back and re-visit this site regularly.

I welcome your feedback, comments, suggestions and ideas for making this a fun place to be.
